>> Okay, guys. Here's the situation. Arcadia needs to change the main character. And, unfortunately, the deadline can't be pushed. So this has to happen in two weeks [scoffing]. >> That's four weeks away. >> I know. But this is very important for us. And I want to work with you and with the team to make this happen. >> How is that going to happen? >> Well, let's talk about all the things that you all think you need to have it happen in a way that's-- >> I need two more weeks. >> Well, I'll going to be the-- >> Well-- >> --I'm doing to be the real bearer of some cold, hard facts of what's happened in the past year. Okay. This is - there have been three projects that have gone down the toilet because of mismanagement, and this makes four. There have been some wonderful people a part of this company that are now gone because we have been a little over worked and little under paid and very under staffed. Okay. And I like gaming. I like being at this table. I don't like being insane. And if you are going to keep pushing us-- >> I understand that-- >> Okay. There's two weeks that you're asking for. >> --everyone is stressed out. >> That's a big problem. How are you going to address it? >> You think that you can't get it done in two weeks because of the other work? >> Yeah. >> We'll that's why-- >> There has to be-- >> Okay so-- >> Yes. But we're also over worked with the work that we have. And we don't have enough staff. >> Okay. So we can take a look at what's on your plate and perhaps some of those deadlines can be moved back so that for the next two weeks you are solely dedicated to getting this work done. But if we can make that happen, would that be acceptable? >> Will there be overtime? >> If you want there to be overtime. >> I can't do overtime. I cannot do it. >> I don't want to be overtime. >> Okay. So you are willing and want to work overtime. >> No, no, no. >> Well Tom's greedy. >> No. No I - well, if we are going to work overtime I'm a young guy, that's fine. I understand. >> What does that have to do with it? >> All I'm saying is that I'm willing to work, and I don't have two kids. Okay? I'm willing to work overtime if it's worth my time. If it's worth my time. >> Meaning what? If you don't-- >> Meaning double. Double time. >> Oh. >> Meaning double. >> Okay. Well, I'm going to have to back and look at the budgets, but I understand that's what it's going to take-- >> Listen, I can't do the overtime, but if I can someone. Even a girl Friday. What are they called? Girl/guy Friday? That would help me a great deal. >> Okay. So- >> That's what I need. >> --we can-- >> But the overtime is out of question. >> We've been doing all this talk about doing some changes on this project and do this, do this, do this. It's the same thing you promised last year and the year before when we were coming under fire. We had mere people then. >> I understand. >> We had some more staff then. >> I know that we lost some people. And I know it's because I have mismanaged the way that this team has functioned. >> Oh. >> I am taking full responsibility. >> So change it, Samantha. >> That's why I called this meeting. >> But you've called meetings-- >> But you called meetings last time. >> --in the past. I don't understand. >> Everything just goes in this big circle. >> Listen. >> Nothing happens. >> I am [inaudible] to be toyed with. If you - I mean-what are these perks or the incentives of this overtime that you're talking. Is this the only option you're giving us? >> No, I am not just talking about giving you overtime. I know-- >> Good because that option does not work for me whatsoever-- >> We know that. >> --at all. >> Okay. So there are other ways to compensate you besides overtime. >> Okay. >> How? >> If you give me what I need in these next two weeks, I will give-- >> Okay. Lay it down exactly. >> What about some flex time? What about some flex time? >> What do you need? >> What about you? >> What do you need from us? >> What about you taking half days every Friday for the next four months. You can go home and be with your kids after these two weeks if you give me overtime in these two weeks. Half day Fridays. >> Full day Friday [laughter]. >> Oh, God. >> All right. Let's see how sexy you make that new character. >> Can I take every other week to Aruba? Will the company pay for that? >> We'll send you on a trip. You need some relaxation, clearly. And we will make that happen. >> And what about this one? What do you do with this one? >> Good. I just - I want a life. I don't want to have to constantly be sprinting and being over taxed on time and being worn thin-- >> What? You just [indistinct conversation]. >> --project after project >> --video game industry. I don't understand. >> It's the same problem. >> Okay. Okay. So how about this. We clearly need - we've been interviewing to fill the spots that are open. I need your input on the people that we are going to hire. We need-- >> Can you-- >> But that has nothing to do with this project. >> Yes, it does. Listen. >> Filling those positions does absolutely nothing for this project. >> At the time-- >> Right. >> No matter how talented they are, we can't bring them up to speed in two weeks. >> I'm not talking about bringing them in for this project. I'm talking about all hands on deck. The next two weeks are going to be really tough. But we're going to make it happen. And then once these two weeks are over-- >> And what if we don't make it happen? What's going to happen? >> We're going to make it happen. We're going to make it happen. Aren't you guys proud to work here? >> We'll here's my question-- >> Oh, yeah. I mean with the bodies laying on the tarmac, of course we are. >> --what is a man to profit the whole world, the whole gaming world and forfeit up their souls. Because that's what you're asking us to do. You're asking us to forfeit up our lives again. >> I know I am asking a lot-- >> And we still have to get approval from them >> --and I'm only asking you guys. >> --for the type of changes that we make. When are they going to get back to us with that? >> You're asking us because we're the ones that are going to get done, and we're the only ones that can. Okay. >> Listen, if you're here late at night, I'll stay here with you. I'm not asking you to do something that I'm not willing to do also. I understand the work this takes. >> You've been working 18 hours for the past 11 and a half months? >> Eleven and half years. >> I don't know if you've looked at your time clock but-- >> Okay. Well-- >> Listen, I think we were getting-- >> --what can we do? >> -- somewhere before. Right? With you want to go away. You want flex time on Fridays. You want overtime. And you want more balanced hours and a lot of help once these two weeks are over. I think-- >> Yeah. >>--you'd be willing to give me these two weeks if you were assured that your life would be better after these two weeks were over. Am I right? >> If it's not fluff. Let's just say, okay. Let's just get it on the table. We bite the bullet on this thing. All three of us. And we commit to this kamikaze of two weeks. >> Okay. >> I want - I am going right now-- >> It's not a kamikaze mission [laughter]. >> Oh, yes it is. It absolutely is. >> I am going to write down everything that you plan to do for us. >> Okay. >> Because of this incredible and crazy commitment you're asking us to do. >> Okay. And I will sign it. Let's get HR involved. Let's sign contracts. Let's do what we need to do-- >> Great. >> --so you guys feel assured that you are being valued as employees. That you are getting what you need. And that you are assured that you're getting what you need. >> What else are we going to do? I mean I have to take your word because [whispers] I work for you. >> This is true. >>And I have to make money-- >> This is true. >> --or else I'm going to move on like Doug and Linda. Or I'm going to end up in a psych ward >> That's what's going to happen. Honestly. >> Is there a way that we cannot just-- >>We can go to another company and be treated a lot better, Samantha. >> Do you know that for a fact? This is the way-- >> Yes. >> I do. Yes, I do. >> Actually, I have lots of friends that there a many companies in this town. Well, Doug and Linda are working [laughs] for another company. >> They're much happier. >> And I actually haven't heard any complaints from them. >> No. >> Okay so-- >> Now, listen. >> --so let's pretend that I did not just throw this project out and we were just having a conversation about our normal work week and the things that you feel you need to have changed to be happy as Doug and Linda. What are the things that you would want changed at this company. Forget the imminent projects. >> I think the imminent projects are the problem. >> I want the practice of taking on new projects before the one is completely in its final stages. I want that to stop. >> Time management. >> Okay. We'll that's not a matter of not taking on new business. But it's the matter of being properly staffed for all of the new business that we take on. >> Right. >> We don't want to not take on new business. >> So what are you going to do that's different? >> I will tell you what I will need. >> Staffing. This is a staffing issue. >> So this staffing issue. >> I will tell you what I will need. >> So who's working with me? >> Before promises are made that a project is going to be completed, how about checking with the staff first and seeing where they are on the project? >> I completely agree with you. So full staff meetings with heads of the department, heads of-->> First class staff. >> every single team. >> Let's go first class staff. >> Okay. >> I'm actually reprioritizing it. >> Okay. >> First, double time for any overtime that we have-- >> For this next two week. >> That's right. >> Okay. >> Two, the reshuffling of the schedules of the other projects that we have right now-- [inaudible]. >> Reprioritization. >> --so that we have time to do that. >> Absolutely. >> And three, paid time off after the two weeks in order so that I can have a relationship with someone. Maybe even someone besides my dog. >> That sounds reasonable. >> Great. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. If I agree to this, which I'm still up in the air about. I would want the Fridays off - four-day work week. And after this project is over I need an assistant. If you can guarantee that, maybe I'll think about it. >> Okay. And you? >> Okay. After the vacation that I already talked about, there has to be some major changes. I'm talking major. >> Okay. >> You cannot schedule one project on top of another on top of another on top of yet another and expect them all to be done in this incredibly short amount of time. >> Right, right. >> That will stop. >> Okay. So what if we implement and bi-weekly or twice weekly status meeting with all upper management including yourself to review every single project that's moving within the agency that's potentially coming in. And you will report to all upper management on how your people are doing with their own time management. >> I do that already. Okay, but granted. >> Okay. So I take a little more responsibility. >> Now, wait a minute. >> You take a little more responsibility. >> Okay. Now we have your guarantee. >> You have my guarantee that I am taking this Phil right after the meeting. And that I will work my hardest. And I will fight for you guys to get this done. And after my meeting with Phil, I will come to each one of you and I will let you know the outcome. >> Okay. >> Phil understands the importance of this project. He knows that this is a big deal for us and that we need to do what it's going to take to get it done. >> That's great. >> And in that case-- >> That's great because we need a lot done. And so if it doesn't happen, don't think the projects going to happen in time. You understand that. Just as long as we are all clear on that. >> This meeting has been very helpful. I think I have a very clear understanding of the problems that we face and the immediate solutions we need to make these next two weeks happen. I will bring that to Phil right after the meeting. And I will follow up with each one of you in a little bit. >> Good. >> Okay. >> And I sure hope you have some better news than last time. >> I'll do my best.
